Dear Joy,
Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you will make the time and
opportunity to have some happy moments with people you enjoy. My
wish for you and me is that we will always be able to find something
for which to be grateful. Here is a way I found to remember
a few of them. Feel free to add your own.
- Generosity
toward others, caring and sharing
- Resources aplenty to do what we are
here to do
- Attitude of awareness and openness
- Trust in a higher power, self and
others
- Enthusiasm,
enjoyment and excitement in life
- Freedom,
food, family and friends
- Upliftment,
unity and universal peace within us
- Love
for all things
The "Message of Joy" below tells and
shows a little about fawn behavior and our own. Also, the next
Healing Touch, Level 1 class is Feb. 4-5, 2011. A HT
Intro class will be held on Jan. 15. See below for more details.
Check out the cute tiger picture near the end,
and remember to smile. I want to send a special thank you to Julie,
Lori and Carol at Serenity Springs for their help and hospitality.

Moving Forward Fawn-style
What a sight of pure delight! I stopped abruptly at the
side of a busy street close to my home. In the median next to me was
a doe walking slowly and steadily, followed by her two spotted fawns.
At the intersection, she kept the same pace, crossed the street and
continued travelling north in the median.
Meanwhile, the fawns had stopped at the street seeming
hesitant to continue in the doe's footsteps. In a bit, they began
moving forward and followed their mama who was, by now, far ahead of
them. Was this just another survival lesson in fawn school? If so,
they appeared to handle it well .
So what do you think caused the fawns to freeze in
place; what helped move them forward? Have you ever hesitated
or completely stopped before taking another step forward? Perhaps
something triggered you to turn around and go back to your starting
point or even "lay low" for awhile. Later were you able to
take tiny steps or maybe a flying leap forward? What helped you make
that shift?

Horse and Fawn
Grazing Fearlessly
|
My sense
of what the fawns' were experiencing was fear of stepping into the
unknown. As the moments passed, the fear of trying something new was
less than the fear of being left alone. At that time, taking the next
step and moving forward was less fearful than standing in place. Or
stated another way, the fawns' incentive for moving forward was more
compelling than their desire to stand still. Can you identify with
this?
Often we keep ourselves from taking the next step toward
what we want out of fear of the unknown or fear of repeating mistakes
of the past. You may even find yourself saying, "I'm not going
to get married again because last time...I don't want to take
on that kind of project because I may have the same
experience..." "Feel the fear and do it anyway" is a
mantra that may encourage you to move toward what you desire rather
than staying stuck in fears from past.
It's time to find out what you really want and go after
it with positive, trusting, flowing energy. Focus on seeing yourself
doing what you love. Keep taking one step after another in the
direction you want to go...fawn-style. Before long, you'll be getting
less of what you don't want and more of what you do want, and that's
a happy thought.
Happy thoughts make good things happen!

Photo Op at Serenity Springs Wildlife Sanctuary
"Hold that
tiger! Hold that tiger!" Remember that one? I recently
discovered Serenity Springs Wildlife Center near Calhan, Colorado.
What a fabulous experience! The tour, the staff, the volunteers, the
big cats and a few non-cats were very accommodating. The stories
of the animals are fascinating and range from former movie stars to
photo subjects to family pets to victims of abuse and more.
My mission to the
Sanctuary was to have a little fun and have my picture taken with a
tiger cub. I am happy to report that I was 100% successful on
both counts. Here's the photo proof. Billy was a sweetheart! Sadly
for you, his photo career is now over at the age of twelve
weeks.
I will
be using the photos to promote my children's tiger cubs' books
with a message ofempowerment for children.
My intent is to have one or two published within six months.
The animals at
Serenity Springs seem very well cared for and content.
Tours continue to be available throughout the winter
season, weather permitting. For more info, see website.
